Company History: MDI and MDI Holdings, Inc.

Medical Development International (MDI) was founded in 1992 with the belief that cutting-edge information technology could reduce unnecessary health insurance costs. And if our success over the last 18 years is any indication, that belief still holds true.

This vision began with the creation of custom healthcare provider networks for government institutions, revolutionizing the way public agencies create and access healthcare services. With the networks came a growing portfolio of services, including scheduling, claims processing and reporting capabilities. In the nearly two decades since our founding, MDI has helped public and government agencies save more than $100 million in taxpayer money through network contracting and claims processing.

Bringing the same vision and determination that changed the public healthcare landscape, MDI began creating healthcare solutions for corporate customers in 2008. From self-funded employers to brokers to healthcare payers, our patented technology and provider contracting expertise was met with immediate success.

Today, we are a recognized leader in risk management, benefits planning and health data analytics. We have developed medical partnerships with over 400 hospitals and 15,000 physicians, providing medical services management for more than 100,000 patients across 28 states and Puerto Rico.
