MDI
MDI in the community. Service, philanthropy and volunteeringCreating practical healthcare solutions for nearly 20 years.

Richard Willich | Chairman

Richard Willich founded MDI in 1992, with the belief that technology can help make healthcare more affordable for employers and employees, alike.

Prior to starting MDI, Willich founded Dow Industries, a healthcare design and development firm. Named the 11th fastest growing private company by Inc. Magazine in 1985, Dow was later sold to a Fortune 500 healthcare company.

Willich is a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for 30 years. He retired from the Corps in 1990, having achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He is an alumnus of Ripon College, Pepperdine University and Western State Law School.

In addition to MDI, Willich has also established two successful farms in North Florida: Grace Farms, a 30-acre company retreat with thoroughbred horses, and Picalata, a 110-acre farm that's home to the top one percent of Registered Aberdeen Black Angus cattle in the state of Florida.
