MDI's healthcare data technology is built on top of a powerful database system, housed onsite at MDI headquarters. After more than a year of development and already hosting more than 2 billion claims, our healthcare data warehouse was awarded one of the federal government's foremost security certifications.

Specifically, NIST Special Publication 800-53A provides guidelines for creating and managing information systems to process, store and transmit information securely. The evaluation and certification is based upon applying technical, managerial and operational controls to an organization's equipment, facilities and services.

After rigorous testing and assessment on data services for a federal contract, MDI was deemed compliant in accordance with NIST security requirements.

These standards were created to provide businesses and developers with specific guidelines that ensure their facilities, networks and databases adequately protect customers from unauthorized access, use, disclosure or modification of their private information.
