PONTE VEDRA, Fla., — MDI Healthcare Solutions, based in Ponte Vedra, Florida announced today that the second-generation E.A.R.L.® , part of the MDI Analytics Suite, will be featured in the keynote address at Microsoft’s MIX10, The Next Web Now Conference in Las Vegas on Monday, March 15th. (http://live.visitmix.com) The MDI Analytics Suite is a collection of practical data visualization and analytics solutions for the complex healthcare environment. E.A.R.L.® (Empowered Analysis and Reporting Log) was created with Microsoft Silverlight, a browser plug-in that powers rich interactive experiences through Web, desktop and mobile applications.

“Our customers have been using the E.A.R.L.® technology for almost two years,” said MDI Healthcare Solutions President Ted Willich. “We have been working on this latest iteration for the better part of 2009, and what we’ve created is a detailed graphic representation of data that up until now has been very hard to understand. To be recognized at this very important gathering of industry professionals is very gratifying.”

E.A.R.L.® is a user-friendly graphic tool that visualizes a patient’s medical history, including diagnoses, claims and pharmacy information. Through an interactive visual interpretation of the human body, users are able to review claim-supported patient history at a glance. Color identifies the severity of the affected organs, bones, and other areas within the body, allowing customers to quickly identify high-risk situations and manage future healthcare costs. E.A.R.L.® is accessed through a secure portal by MDI’s customers, protecting patient identity and privacy.

The second-generation E.A.R.L.® is part of the company’s newly launched MDI Analytics Suite, which allows users to analyze and manipulate data to manage current and future healthcare costs in an easy-to-use, flexible, web-based reporting gateway. MDI’s driven staff, along with Silverlight’s rapid development capabilities, made it possible to create and implement this revolutionary product in a very short timeframe. “Silverlight enables a variety of business application scenarios, and Microsoft looks forward to seeing how the healthcare industry will benefit from MDI Healthcare Solutions’ new Silverlight-based E.A.R.L.® technology,” said Steve Sklepowich, director for Silverlight at Microsoft Corp. “E.A.R.L.® is a great example of how companies can use Silverlight to power rich, line of business applications that provide users with an efficient, visual way to interpret data.”

The MDI Analytics Suite also includes powerful health data analysis tools that make a variety of standard and customizable reports available to assist in decision-making and understanding medical claims data.

E.A.R.L. combines Microsoft Silverlight technology with our proprietary claims processing capabilities to display patient histories in a dynamic, interactive visual representation. To create this innovative application, MDI’s skilled software developers worked with Microsoft Silverlight partners at New Age Solution, LLC in Jacksonville, Florida.

To promote the unique development opportunities of the Silverlight platform, Microsoft has recently produced an in-depth case study describing the underlying technology, benefits and capabilities of E.A.R.L.

PONTE VEDRA, Fla., — MDI Healthcare Solutions, Inc., announced today that two of the company’s senior executives will present a roundtable discussion at the prestigious CFO Rising Conference, Navigating The New Normal on Tuesday, March 9th in Orlando FL. The discussion, entitled, Rx for Health Care: Why an Integrated Approach to Health Care Spend Can Lower Costs will be presented by Andy Dengos, SVP of Sales & Business Development and Rick Farris, VP of Sales.

As health care costs continue to rise—a predicted 7 percent this year alone-–companies are looking for effective ways to manage their exposure. Part of the problem is that many organizations do not know what they are paying for: they are rich in claims data, but information poor. MDI’s Andy Dengos and Rick Farris have been scheduled by the conference organizers to present an introduction to the multiple uses of analytics and predictive modeling in health care cost containment. The presentation will show corporate CFOs a multitude of tools to ensure cost savings as well as outline the benefits of unit cost management and an integrated approach to managing health care spending.

“In this age of ever evolving applications of data, an understanding of the role analytics and enhanced predictability can play in containing costs is really critical to corporations,” said Andy Dengos, MDI’s Sr. Vice President of Sales and Business Development.

CFO Rising is the signature conference hosted by CFO magazine, an award winning business of the Economist Group, reaching over 600,000 corporate executives around America. The CFO Rising Conference attracts between 300-400 senior financial executives. It examines issues that are pertinent to finance executives with clear corporate agendas.
