Jacksonville healthcare technology and data warehouse company names long-time board member to Medical Director position

MDI, a healthcare technology and data warehousing company in Ponte Vedra, today introduced Dr. Rudolf Bickel as their new Corporate Medical Director.

Dr. Bickel has served on the company’s board for more than 15 years, providing guidance and advice on clinical issues for MDI’s clients in the federal government and public sector. His role as Corporate Medical Director will include the ongoing development and testing of MDI’s Viewpoint Analytics, a powerful data warehouse and claims reporting service for corporate clients.

Dr. Bickel’s clinical and care management expertise will be instrumental in the ongoing success of MDI’s Viewpoint Analytics platform. Built on a state-of-the-art data warehouse, Viewpoint Analytics uses dimensional data modeling to create powerful healthcare reports and visualizations. Dr. Bickel is helping oversee the development and testing of new reporting features that will help clients better understand their healthcare data to make more informed decisions about future benefits plans and spending.

Dr. Bickel has founded and served as a medical director at several successful medical practices throughout the Mid-Atlantic over his 30 year career as a practicing physician. He has also held consultant positions with a number of healthcare technology oriented-companies including Cybermedix Inc. and PHP Healthcare Corporation.

Dr. Bickel is also a retired Colonel in the United States Air Force Medical Corps with more than 20 years experience in the public sector, including: Chairman of the Primary Care Department at Andrews AFB, Chief of Healthcare Requirements under the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, and key staff positions for the Office of the Surgeon General (USAF), Tri-Service Medical Information Systems Office and USAF School of Aerospace Medicine.

Dr. Bickel is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and a graduate with distinction of the University of Michigan.
